Monsters: With Strange Aeons Imperial Stout – ABV 10%

A warming and complex Imperial Stout, black and smooth, with lots of chocolate, rich roast, that sort of thing. We prefer stouts with low carbonation, so don’t expect a big fluffy head – unless you take its name at face value and age it for a long while.

3 Bean Stout – ABV 13%

Tonka, Vanilla and Cocoa beans combine with Caramel malts plus Aurora and Hershbrucker hops for an astounding stout with chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla notes.

Look: Jet black color with cloud-like mocha-coloured head, some soft carbonation

Aroma: Chocolate, coconut, vanilla and coffee with some roasted malt base notes.

Taste: Sugary coffee, cinnamon, even some rum and liquor warmth. Loads of chocolate, vanilla, lactose and coconut sweetness but balanced by a nice coffee bitterness for a dry, lasting finish.

Verdict: A masterpiece of a collaboration between Brazil’s Way Beer and Norway’s Lervig. Way to go!

Dual Runnings Quadrupel – ABV 12%

Collaboration with Kernel, brewed and bottled in 2015. This is a brilliantly balanced Quad with flavours of caramel and toffee.

Look: Pours light brown with a nice white head.

Aroma: Peaches, caramel and a hint of coffee.

Taste: Big flavours and toffee and dried fruit with a big boozy kick the 12% ABV.

Verdict: Two years is a long time to wait for a beer, but we think you’ll agree the results are worth it.
